What is the oil grid

2022-10-10

The oil grid refers to filtering the oil in the engine, improving its cleanliness and lubrication, and supplying the crankshaft, connecting rod, camshaft, supercharger, piston ring and other moving pairs with clean oil, which plays the role of lubrication, cooling and cleaning. Thereby reducing the wear and tear of the engine, making it perform its best function and prolonging the life of these components.

When the engine is working, metal shavings, dust, carbon deposits from high temperature oxidation, colloidal deposits, water, etc. are continuously mixed into the lubricating oil. The function of the oil filter is to remove these mechanical impurities and colloids, keep the lubricating oil clean and prolong its service life.

The oil filter needs performance such as strong filtration capacity, small flow resistance and long service life. The general lubricating system is equipped with several filters with different filtration capacities, such as a collector, a coarse filter and a fine filter, which are respectively connected in parallel or in series in the main oil passage.
